TUBE and Whoa! Films team up to shoot 35mm for UPS

ATLANTA – UPS approached TUBE with a concept for a video about a book. Not just any book, but a book representing the past, present and future of UPS. James Rowe, Producer for UPS, helmed the project and brought on Bill Orisich from Whoa! Films to capture the book with a 35mm shoot in TUBE’s insert stage. Set on a copper surface, the leather bound book was brought to life with transparent wire, sweeping lights and smoke.

In conjunction with the film footage, TUBE designer, Michael White, modeled the book in 3D for test camera moves, framings and additional special effects shots. Chris Downs of TUBE performed all of the tracking, rotoscoping, and compositing of the film footage transforming still pictures on the pages into video. Greg Partridge edited the two videos as well as performed the audio post. The final videos served as the open and close of the annual UPS event entitled Casey Evening.
